Today our Third Grade class voted in our Great Thanksgiving Debate.

We held a primary election to select two third-party candidates that would run against the two main candidates, Turkey and Ham, to win the coveted main dish title at Thanksgiving for the next four years. Pizza and Steak won the primary and got their names added to our official ballot. Each student cast their vote and received an "I Voted" sticker.

Our winner as the main dish at Thanksgiving for the next 4 years was pizza!
Book Fair tomorrow!! The kids will be going to the book fair tomorrow during PE time. Feel free to send in money, or the kids can bring you a wish list of books they would like to purchase.

Our class has a wish list! Here is a link to the list of books we would love for our class collection if you'd like to make a donation.

Thank you for all you do for Room 23!!

SCORE Conferences Tomorrow/Friday

Hi there folks... I've had several families who perfect a face to face SCORE conference - I am THRILLED and you are welcome to come either in person or on Zoom at your scheduled time.

This is my Zoom Room direct link. Please note you will be in the waiting room until I let you in.

Remember students are welcome and encouraged to attend. We have been working on our goals the last few days, I'm sure they will be excited to share them with you.

I look forward to meeting with you.

Hello SuperSpahr families - tomorrow begins a new chapter in the re-opening of Sycamore. Rest assured, Room 23 is a welcome, safe, and healthy place for your child.

If remaining on Distance Learning is a more appropriate option for your family - I support you 100%!

Many have expressed a desire to return to a more independent model - similar to the spring. The model does not work for everyone, and as you know, I am not a 'one size fits all' type of teacher. Try it this short week and we can chat at our SCORE Conference. We all have the same goal - to see your child THRIVE in Third Grade!

Those students returning to class, please bring your Beach Box with all spirals and workbooks, supplies and your Chromebook with charger.

If you haven't already - now is a good time to schedule your SCORE Conference. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/8050845AAA72DA1F85-score1

School Opening Changes

Hi All,

I'm sure you have all received the exciting news from Ms. Hale. Sycamore will be open for business starting Monday. We are so excited to have students back on campus and are looking forward to seeing all of their smiling faces.

With school opening, some changes to Distance Learning will be taking place. As a grade level team, we have come up with a schedule that allows for students who choose to remain at home the ability to receive live instruction from their teacher, collaborate with their peers on a daily basis while limiting screen time.

The new Third Grade schedule will be as follows:

820-845 - Zoom check in and mini lessons with your teacher. **Lessons will also be available at any time through the grade level Vimeo account**

845-145 - Independent work such as Math Workbook, Grammar Worksheets, RAZ reading, IXL, Rosetta Stone etc.

145-215 - Zoom in for Music, Art, Science or Social Studies

No Zoom on Fridays. Take assessments in Google Classroom and have a nice weekend!

Similar to Spring, we will be posting the class slide show as well as the necessary worksheets, tests, and quizzes on Google Classroom for completion on Kami or you may print, scan and return to your teacher at the end of the week.
