Thank you for visiting my page!

As the Executive Director/Principal of the school, it is my responsibility to ensure that your child's educational needs are met.  We are blessed with a highly qualified and passionate faculty and staff at Sycamore and each person employed with us demonstrates the kind of critical skills and fundamental dispositions we want to instill in our students.  Together, we are constantly reflecting on our practice in an effort to continue to learn and improve.

I am a founding member of the school and was part of the executive committee that wrote and petitioned for our charter.  This endeavor was a true grass-roots effort to bring an innovative learning environment to the Wildomar community.  Now, nearly 10 years later, we enjoy positive relationships with the City of Wildomar, Lake Elsinore Unified School District, Riverside County Office of Education, several local charter schools as well as local businesses

Facility Presentation

Here is the PPT from the facility presentation, just in case you missed it.

Also, some parents asked about purchasing the school bonds.  I looked into that and unfortunately they can only be purchased by investors.  If you need more information, please let me know!

Coffee Collections Continue!

I'm very proud of the job we've done so far, collecting coffee and creamer for our troops.  We have the next four school days to make a big impact, let's do what we can!  Ask friends, families and neighbors if they'd like to contribute too!

PE

I'd like to remind everyone that Sycamore students are required to participate in PE 4 days per week (M-Th).  Children need to be outside and do gross-motor activities daily, therefore, they will be outside participating in PE everyday (except when raining or if excluded per a doctor).  At Sycamore, PE is a course...just like math, science, etc.  Please ensure that your children dress appropriately for physical activities and the weather.  I greatly appreciate your assistance in ensuring that we develop responsible and healthy children!

Have a great summer!

It's hard to believe that tomorrow is our last day of school for the 2012-13 school year!  This year has gone by very fast.

I wish you all a wonderful summer and lots of fun times with family and friends!

I'll see new families at the New Family Orientation on August 6th and everyone else on our first day of school, August 14th, 2013 at 8:30am SHARP! :-)

End of the Year Party!!

I hope to see you all at the End of the Year party tomorrow!  12:30pm - 3:30pm at Copper Canyon Park in Murrieta!  It's always a blast!!

Unity in the Community Parade

Saturday, April 27th is Lake Elsinore's Unity in the Community Parade! Come out and support Sycamore Cheer and see "Stinger"...our new mascot!

The parade begins at 10am and cheer will perform on Main Street.

Welcome to Sycamore Academy!

Dear Families,

It is a true honor to have your children at our charter school and I am blessed to be apart of their learning community.  This is a truly collaborative environment and we encourage your participation, contributions and feedback.  I encourage you to be involved at any level that is comfortable for you whether it be support in or out of the classroom, party planning, field trip chaperone or committee member.  There is a way for everyone to participate in our school!

Despite the ongoing economic issues in the State of California, Sycamore Academy continues to provide a superior education that includes things like music, art, and hands-on science...items that have been cut from many programs.  We are able to do this, thanks in large part, to the ongoing family and community support.

I look forward to working with each and every one of you as we continue to build our learning community.

Sincerely,

Barbara Hale
