A little bit about me!

I am very excited to return for my fourth year at Sycamore! With that said, let me introduce myself. Originally, I was born in Indiana, but grew up in the San Fernando Valley. I've lived in Murrieta for the last 9 years. My husband, Robert, and I have been married for thirteen years. We have two spunky little girls ages 9 and 3 years old. I earned an Associate in Arts degree at Los Angeles Pierce Community College in Liberal Studies. Subsequently, I transferred to California State University Northridge. There, I earned a Liberal Studies Bachelor’s degree in education with a concentration in children’s art and my multiple subject teaching credential.  I have experience teaching in all elementary grades. In between teaching in a self-contained classroom, I have also taught Visual and Performing Arts to grades K-5 as a teacher on special assignment. This will be my 11th year in the teaching profession. My years of experiences have helped me become very knowledgeable in working with students of various ages, levels of abilities, and needs. I am looking forward to working with you and your child. It is my goal that this be a very positive, exciting, and challenging year for your child.

Wish list (Thank you for your donations so far!)

Hello Parents,
I hope you are doing well and enjoyed your week with your kiddo's. It was great having them back with me in the classroom. Today, they should have brought home a flyer about the Winterfest, which will be on December 7th 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. During the winter fest each grade level runs a booth and each class puts together a basket to be auctioned off to raise money for their grade level to be used on fun projects and possible field trip for the year. This year our class is making an ice cream sundae basket.  I've attached a picture to give an idea of what our basket might look like. Baskets will need to be done before the Winterfest, so I am asking for donations now until the 5th of December. If you could please donate any of the following items, it would be greatly appreciated!
Items needed:
colorful basket filler
gift certificates to ice cream places
sundae bowls
sundae spoons
caramel sauce
marshmellow sauce
magic shell
hot fudge/chocolate sauce
ice cream cones
maraschino cherries
and anything cute that you find at the dollar section or store that you think would be a compliment to our theme.
Thank you as always for your help!
Christy Picard
