Physical Education

Welcome to Physical Education! I am excited to be a part of the Sycamore Academy Team again this year. This will be my third year with Sycamore. Please subscribe to this page if you would like to receive updates about Physical Education.

A little about myself:
I am originally from Wisconsin, born and raised a cheesehead (Go Pack Go!). Now, you're probably wondering how did I end up in Southern California? Well, my husband is an active-duty member of The United States Air Force and we moved here in 2014 after living overseas for 4 years on a small tropical island known as Okinawa, Japan. I have two dogs which have traveled with us all the way from Okinawa and their names are Lily and MoMo. I am passionate about fitness and leading a healthy lifestyle. I enjoy doing CrossFit, running, biking, camping, and hiking in my free time. I hope that I can spread this enthusiasm for fitness and lifelong activity amongst my students.

Background & Education:
I attended the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh where I received a Bachelor of Science in Education. I am certified to teach K-12 Physical Education, Health. For the past few years, I have been substituting mainly with the Department of Defense Schools (DoDs) overseas and then with the Val Verde School district last year. Substituting has really allowed me to be the versatile teacher I am today.

Certifications:
- California single-subject preliminary credential in Physical Education & Health
- Wisconsin K-12 teaching credential for Physical Education, Health, Adapted Physical Education and Coaching
- CPR, First Aid, AED
- SCEWL 2015

Check out this Month's Activity Calendar. I encourage families to be active together. See how many of the activities you can do this month! Have fun! There is a Calendar for K-5 Elementary Level and one for 6-8th grade (secondary). The 10 at a time Calendar are challenges you could do as a family each day.
