My name is Samantha Etchandy and I am so excited to be here for another year at Sycamore Academy. This will be my 14th (!!) year of teaching and boy does the time fly when you're having fun! I am a native New Yorker born and raised in Queens, NY. I lived there until moving to California in June of 2010. I attended Hunter College in New York City and received my BA in English Language Arts and my MS in Elementary Education, Grades 1-6. I've had the pleasure of working both in private and public schools in California and New York and have dual certification in both states. My husband Kevin & I are parents to our beautiful daughter, Faye and our fur babies, Mack & Louie.
I am semi-fluent in French and backpacked across Europe the summer of 2010, immediately after finishing my initial teaching credential program. I was able to see 16 different countries in 6 weeks. Traveling is one of my favorite things to do! These are a few of my favorite things:

It is paramount to my teaching to provide my students with a safe environment in which they can learn to respect themselves and others, all while simultaneously obtaining a genuine love for learning.
Thank you for entrusting them to my care!
