Ms. Zane Saldana's Profile

"A teacher holds a hand, opens a mind and touches a heart."
This 2018-19 school year is a new adventure and I am excited to go through it with more students and friends as I embark this new journey as a Teacher on Special Assignment. Its like I am being sent on a special mission!
I am Ms. Zane Arney Saldana and teaching has been my passion for 11 years. I taught students as young as 18 months up to 8th grade. I love children and seeing them learn and have fun brings warmth in my heart. I studied a full 5 year course where I obtained my degree in Bachelor of Science in Education and Psychology. I taught in several countries like Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia and of course in my home country, Philippines. I was also given the privilege to work with teachers based in China as a their trainer and continue to develop ourselves in becoming the teacher that our future generation deserves. Working with other teachers is such an enriching opportunity to learn and better myself in different teaching methods, strategies and philosophy.
I also worked as an Activities Designer and Area Manager in an education based themed park called KidZania where it replicates a real city and kids are empowered to be independent and responsible, given the freedom to choose any fun job they want to be such as a doctor, baker, pilot, chef, etc.
I am all about empowering the children and helping them awaken their strengths and embracing them. Seeing them grow and progress while having fun and with the love for learning is my greatest achievement.
Let us all have a wonderful school year ahead!

APRIL is Poetry Month! The Kindergarten Team has a Challenge for you families this Month. We have a special treat for you at the end of May.  But, in order to make it all happen, we need you to embrace Poetry this month with your child.
1. Follow this link for inspiration.
2. Choose a poem to read to your child EVERY night.
3. Provide your teacher with a copy of the poem and share why you chose it.
4. Create a meaningful way to represent or display it.
5. Bring it in to share with your child's classmates before May 1, 2018. The sooner the better. Let's get started. If you are concerned about the amount of work, think of the benefits and use it as a "free no homework pass".
If you have any questions, please feel free to email or ask your child's teacher.
Thank you for all you do!

The more that you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you will go!
